Description and specifications
The Canon A-1 is a 35 mm single-lens reflex (SLR) camera, manufactured between 1978 and 1985 by Canon Camera K. K. in Japan. At the time, it was the high-end model of the A series (which includes the AE-1). It is distinguished by sophisticated electronics.

The A-1 was revolutionary: it is the first SLR to offer a full programmed exposure mode (P), in addition to shutter priority (Tv), aperture priority (Av), flash priority mode (with certain Speedlite flashes) and manual mode.
