Harman Phoenix 200, launched at the end of 2023, marks Harman's entry into the world of colour film. Produced entirely at their factory in Mobberley (United Kingdom), it represents a symbolic step for the brand, which has until now specialised in black-and-white emulsions.

HARMAN Phoenix 200 is a new 135 colour film, 200 ISO and 36 exposures. It is characterised by a very prominent grain, vibrant colours, and high contrast.

This new type of film does not have an orange mask.

Main features

  • ISO 200in standard processingC-41, available in 35 mm (36 exposures) and 120 format.
  • Aestheticexperimental: high contrast, visible grains, vibrant colours, marked analogue imprint.
  • Halation effects(light halos around light sources) due to the absence, or near absence, of an anti-halation layer or coloured masks.
  • Colour palette: Rich reds, intense greens, and vibrant blues. Tones can vary significantly depending on scanner settings or development conditions.
  • Restricted exposure latitude: it is best to shoot at the nominal value of ISO 200 and in constant light; exposure is a key criterion.

Who is this film for?

This film will particularly appeal to photographers drawn to an organic, grainy and expressive aesthetic — those looking to break away from the smooth and controlled rendering of more common films. Its unpredictable and emotionally charged character makes it a perfect choice for artistic series, intimate portraits or unique light atmospheres.
